World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a new “Training toolkit on substandard and falsified medical products.” This comprehensive resource includes a competency framework, detailed curriculum and trainer’s guides, and technical materials designed to equip health professionals, managers, and regulators with the knowledge and tools to combat substandard and falsified medicines globally.
The toolkit is a flexible and modular WHO normative resource that contains:
- A competency framework outlining the required skills and knowledge to combat SFs. The framework is designed to be flexible and adaptable, allowing trainers to tailor the competencies to the specific needs and contexts of their learners.
- A curriculum guide to structure learning objectives and content. The curriculum guide structures the training into four modules: background, prevention, detection, and response.
- A detailed trainer’s guide for effective session(s) delivery. It offers step-by-step guidance on developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
- A collection of technical resources which includes checklists, factsheets, exercises, case studies, etc. which are designed for practical use in professional settings and/or hands-on training sessions.
